Felicitation function to honour outstanding students held

The 5th Keinou Taba Nameirakpam Sagei Meritorious Award was distributed to deserving students belong to Nameirakpam descent from differnent parts of Manipur who have secured 70% and above marks in the recently declared Class X and XII examinations conducted by BOSEM, COHSEM and CBSE in a simple felicitation function organized by Keinou Taba Nameirakpam Sagei Development Trust at Keinou.
The function was attended by MLA Nambol AC N Loken Singh; president Keinou Taba Nameirakpam Sagei Development Committee N Irabot Singh and Secy N Jayentakumar as dignitaries.
As part of the function, tree saplings were planted around the Sagei Sanglen at Keinou.
The function began with the paying of floral tributes and respect to the sacred site of Ibudhou of Keinou Taba Nameirakpam Sagei.
Speaking at the occasion, MLA N Loken Singh said that cash award of Rs 1 lakh will be handed over to the first ten position holders in the Class X and XII exams in the name of his late father and urged the students to put all their energy and efforts in studies while they are getting support from their parents.
On the other hand, a felicitation cum reception function to honour meritorious students from Thanga AC who have scored 70% and above marks including the position holders in the Class X and XII exams conducted by BOSEM and COHSEM, other intellectuals such as PhD holders, successful candidate in NET Exam, IIT exam and Civil Services exam from the same AC and distinguished persons who got award in the field of Culture and Sports was held at Thangalawai Sabal Leikai Community Hall yesterday.
The function organized by All Manipur Thanga Peoples Welfare Assn, Thanga was attended by up-Adaksha, Bishnupur ZP Ningthoujam Dinesh as chief guest; president M Ramchandra as functional president and Kha-Thinugei ZP member O Ibojao, Joint Secy Education (S) GoM L Nandakumar (IAS), Director Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, GoM Dr H Chaoba, Senior SP (IPS), Imphal East Jogeshchandra Haobijam, SP Chandel (MPS) N Madhunimai and elected pradhans of various GPs of Thanga AC as guests of honour.
In the felicitation cum reception function held yesterday, a total of 43 students who have scored 70% and above marks from Thanga AC including 23rd position holder Tongbram Sitaljit in the Class X exam conducted by BOSEM, 14 students who also scored 70% and above marks in Class XII exam in Science and Arts stream conducted by COHSEM, 23 students who got 70% and above marks in the Class X and XII exams conducted by CBSE, 3 students who have cleared NEET Medical Exam, 4 NET-JRF (UGC) qualified students, 2 PhD holders and 20 distinguished persons from different fields who have brought laurels to Thanga Kendra were honoured with certificate and citation.
Tree saplings were also distributed to each individuals on the theme 'Green Manipur' as part of the function.
