Legal awareness camp held

As part of International Human Rights Day, Legal Aid Clinic Heirok and Chaokhat Khongthang Semgat Nupi Lup, Heirok conducted a legal awareness camp at the campus of Heirok Part (ii) Mayai Leikai Primary School, today.
The programme conducted under the sponsorship of Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) was attended by Family Court Thoubal Judge, Salam Imocha as chief guest; Eastern Popular English High School Heirok Principal, Tekcham Rameshwor as functional president and Heirok Part-I Gram Panchyat Pradhan, Laishram Khamba as guest of honour.
Heirok Police Station OC, N Premjit; Heirok Part-II GP Ward Members, Kh Jango and Th Ibeyaima as special invitees.
At the event, Advocate Oinam Ramananda spoke on the topic "Legal services to the workers in the unorganised sector" .
Ramananda urged all the workers in the unorganised sector to register their name at the nearest legal aid clinic to ensure their social security and receive benefits of different schemes under the Social Security Act.
Advocate Kh Lembisana Meidingu deliberated on the topic " Legal responses to domestic human right violation".
Saying that the rate of domestic violence is quite high in the State, Kh Lembisana Meidingu appealed all who are a victim of such violence to consult a legal expert to take legal action against the perpetrators.
Over 70 people attended the programme.
