Imphal, January 16:
The All Naga Students Association, Manipur (ANSAM) has said that since its earlier resolution with regard to the All Tribal Students Union, Manipur (ATSUM) CAUCUS continues to stand operational, the former alongwith its units and subordinate bodies will not participate in the forthcoming Tamenglong CAUCUS of the latter.
The Naga students' body intimated that its units and subordinate bodies such as the Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS), Naga Students' union, Chandel (NSUC) and Senapati District Students Association (SDSA) and all other ANSAM constituent bodies will not take part in the January 18 Tamenglong CAUCUS of the All Tribal Students Union Manipur (ATSUM).
The impasse over the ATSUM CAUCUS began in 2007 when ANSAM had pleaded for the postponement of the year's ATSUM CAUCUS but the latter had gone ahead with its programme citing certain reasons.
On September 24 last year the Naga students' body had taken a decision in this regard not to participate in the programme.
At the ANSAM's presidential council meeting on January 10 in Imphal, the Naga students' body resolved to uphold the September 24, 2007 resolution.
