Lunglailu memorial park handed over to public

Imphal, September 15 2021:
A memorial park built at Chingmeirong Rongmei Kabui Khul in the memory of Rongmei Lunglailu who was allegedly killed by her husband was handed over to the public today.
Former Corporator of Imphal Municipal Council Ward no 26, Meibon Phaomei inaugurated the park and handed it over to the public.
The inauguration ceremony was organised by Chingmeirong Women's Society and the park was inaugurated after conducting the traditional rituals by the elders.
Inaugurating the memorial park which also has an open gym, Meibon Phaomei said that the park has been constructed as a part of developmental works in Ward no 26 and has been completed within a short span of two months.
He further stated that the park will provide a place to relax and exercise to keep themselves healthy and strong.
Plannings are underway to construct foot paths and to plant saplings to enrich the park, he added.
Secretary of Chingmeirong Women's Society, Daimei Angangpi expressed gratitude to the former corporator of Ward no 26 for the speedy construction of the park as per the request of the locals.
