While interacting with some of the villagers, it has been reported that they expressed their strong resentment against the deprivation of their basic rights and denial of mobile phone network connection and other facilities in their villages.
Headman of Khayang village stated that villages of Sambu area are located far off at the border area and has been .enduring all types of hardship till date due to the apathy of the Govt plaqued by the lack of adequate health care, zero road connectivity, distressing schools and other miserable absence of infrastructures.
N Zimik, one of the villager of Hangao Kaphung, stated that about 28 villages of Sambu are situated in the mountainous belt of Saham Kaphung with no mobile network access at this information technology age and added that the dream for internet and others services is a far cry, even though the central government has declared the country as digitized nation for quick and easy access to any information.
He decried that even though Sahamphung village was upgraded as Block Headquarter for the area villages, but the essential infrastructures are yet to develop to ensure smooth services for the villagers.
N Zimik further mentioned that Sambu Villages Association has submitted a petition to CM N Biren Singh on his maiden visit to Ukhrul on April 11, 2017, seeking his intervention for the installation of mobile tower to address their grievances but their plea has not yet translated into action till date.
Another huge problem face by villagers, apart from the network problem, is the hardship face by the villagers while carrying sick persons to nearest hospital, he added and said that they have to walk on foot the whole day due to deplorable road condition.
