People for Animal, Thoubal has rescued a Monitor Lizard and Tockay Gecko yesterday from different places in Thoubal district.
According to a statement, PFA team rushed to Langathel Mayai Leikai on being informed about the finding of a rare lizard at about 3 pm.
1.5 ft long Monitor Lizard was found in the kitchen garden of one Puyam Nando Singh of Langathel Mayai Leikai.
The PFA took possession of the lizard.
It is believed that the lizard might have been forced out from the nearby hillock, which was recently occupied by security agencies.
Not long after the lizard was rescued, the PFA was again informed about the presence of a Tokay Gecko in the kitchen garden of one Lourebam Ingobi Singh of Thoubal Wangmataba.
The PFA team rushed to the spot to rescue the Tokay Gecko, which has been tailless.
Both the reptiles would be freed in the wild with the advice of Wildlife Dept, the PFA said.
