PNU rubbishes allegations

Imphal, May 12 2016:
Strongly reacting to the news item which appeared in local dailies, Poumai Naga Union
(PNU) in a statement has rubbished the allega-
tions of Theiva Baptist Church.
The statement said that a meeting of
Poumai general body was held on May 4
and May 5 at Thiwa village under the ap-
proval of the Thiwa village authority.
Thiwa village is one of the constituent
villages of Poumai Naga Union (PNU) un-
der Purul sub-division and is included as
one of the Poumai villages in the official
Gazette (SC/ST Amendment Act, 2002).
Since the establishment of Poumai Naga
Baptist Association (PNBA) in 1978, Thiwa
Baptist Church is one of the affiliated
Churches/members of PNBA.
PNU stated that there were no incidents
of forceful installation of Pastor, denial of
conducting a worship service and damaging
foundation stone and monument as alleged
by Theiva Baptist Church authority.
