ISBT to be commissioned for six months on trial basis

The Transport Department, Manipur, will be running the Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) at Dewlahland on experimental basis for six month.
As such, facilities at the ISBT will be put to use for providing service to various transport service providers Departmentally through Unified Transport Authority (UMTA), an SPV which was established to operate and maintain the Public Transport System in the State, a statement issued by the Director of Transport has informed.
All the inter State and intra state transport service providers who possess valid permit/license issued by Transport Department, except auto rickshaws, have been directed to apply to Transport Department for availing the facilities at ISBT.
No idle parking will be allowed in and around Kanglapat stretch, Waheng Leikai, Nagamapal area and North AOC, it said.
The provisional fee structure for parking and use of facilities at ISBT set by the Government are, counter � Rs 5000 per month per counter; entry fee for interstate vehicle � Rs 100; entry fee for bus (intra-State) � Rs 20; entry fee for TATA magic, Winger, Sumo etc � Rs 10 each.
In the meantime, the All Manipur Inter State Bus and Allied Transport Association has thanked the State Government for shifting the bus parking at North AOC to ISBT, Dewlahland.
The All Manipur Inter State Bus and Allied Transport Association general secretary Bimol Mongjam has appealed to all the interstate drivers and ticket counter staff to join them at ISBT.
He has further appealed to all the organisations/groups to give prior warning before imposing any forms of bandhs or blockades.
