YFPHR terms conflict as pre-planned

Expressing deep concern over violent incidents in the state, Youth's Forum for Protection of Human Rights (YFPHR) has appealed to all sections of the society and the government authority to cooperate in restoring peace and normalcy in the state.
In a statement, YFPHR said that many houses were burnt down and many people belonging to various communities displaced due to the exchange of firing between various groups.
This situation is not a sign of good future.
It will deepen hatred, among the peace loving communities.
This armed conflict is observed to be well-designed and preplanned action since nonstop firing is witnessed in different parts of the state, which means large numbers of Illegal arms have proliferated into the state singe quite a long time.
This can be witnessed on Sunday when a team of Manipur police was ambushed while on their way to Moreh leaving many personnel including one DIG injured.
Maintaining that people of the state have witnessed large number of para militaiy deployed across the border area for many decades, the forum questioned how illegal arms used in the clash were transported into the state to create this violent situation, which has resulted in death, displacement, casualties.
YFPHR has already appealed to all concerns to check illegal arms and licensed guns.
However, no actions could be observed till � date consequently resulting in the present restive situation, it added.
YFPHR also acknowledged and appreciated people of state, who are taking initiative in the peace process during such ongoing violence to bring peace.
It further urged the government to constitute independent investigation team to probe the actors involved in creating this violent armed conflict and initiate necessary legal action against the perpetrators as per the rule of law.
It also appealed to the conflicting parties to refrain from all forms of violence and not to get carried away devilish designs of elements inimical to Manipur's unity and integrity.
