Craft Bazar concludes

The ten-day Craft Bazar organised by Manipur Apex Handloom Weavers and Handicrafts Artisans CS Ltd, Paona Bazar, Imphal under the sponsorship of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India has concluded today at Loktak Modern Fish Market, Moirang.
Elangbam Jeeten Singh, Deputy Director (Handicrafts), Directorate of Handlooms and Textiles, Manipur, K Indira Devi, president, Manipur Apex Handloom Weavers and Handicrafts Artisans CS Ltd, M Sanjeevkumar Singh, Assistant Director, M&SEC, Imphal, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, Cheeng Tam Luwang, president, Crafts Society of Manipur attended the valedictory programme as the chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.
Speaking at the programme, E Jeeten said that most of the artisans in the State are not registered with the Department concerned and as such they could not avail various welfare schemes under the Government.
M Sanjeevkumar urged the artisans to avail handicraft identity cards in order to apply for any benefit and opportunity on time.
Cheeng Tam Luwang informed that similar exhibitions will be organised in different parts of the State as well and urged the artisans to participate so as to expand the markets.
