IGAR (S) conducts medical camp across State

In the run up to the 181st
Raising Day celebrations of the
Assam Rifles, IGAR (South)
organised free medical camps at
24 locations across the State
today.
According to a statement
issued by the PRO of IGAR
(S), the medical camp was
held at Mantripukhri in
Imphal East district;
Keithelmanbi and Patsoi Part-
I village in Imphal West
district; HQ 2 Assam Rifles
in Thoubal district; Sendra
village in Bishnupur district;
Maram and Jwalamukhi in
Senapati district; Noney and
Tamenglong HQ in
Tamenglong district; Somsai,
Keibi Khullen and Meiti vil-
lages in Ukhrul district;
Chandel HQ, Pallel, Sajik
Tampak, Kakching, Moreh,
Joupi, Tengnoupal and
Sehlon in Chandel district;
Songdai and Khoken in
Churachandpur district.
Doctors and paramedical
staff from Government as
well as private hospitals were
also incorporated in the initia-
tive.
A total of 3448 civilians
and 1144 ex-servicemen re-
ceived preliminary medical
and dental treatment as well
as health checkups during
these medical camps.
The
medical camps are a major
initiative as part of the For-
mation's efforts to connect
with the local populace.

Rifles (South) stressed that
the camps are not an isolated
effort but part of a larger
holistic endeavour of the for-
mation to provide succour to
the people of the troubled
State.
IGAR (South) also plans
to conduct a state wide
'Cleanliness Campaign' on
March 12 and 13 besides un-
dertaking long term initiatives
such as 'Adoption of Vil-
lages' by units and a State
wide drive to facilitate regis-
trations for the Jan-Dhan
Yojana Scheme, it said.
