Madrassa teachers demand clearance of pending salary

The All Manipur Madrassa Modernisation Teacher's Welfare Association today submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister demanding clearance of pending salaries of Madrassa teachers.
150 Madrassa teachers who were appointed under the Modernisation of Madrassa Education scheme in November 2011, marched towards the Chief Minister's office today to submit a memorandum appealing clearance of 30 months of pending salary.
They were stopped at Sanjenthong by the police who later allowed seven representatives to proceed in to the CM's office and submit the memorandum.

Speaking to media persons at the sidelines of the protest, the association vice-president Md Abdul Zabar said 30 months salary of Madrassa school teachers have not been paid till date despite repeated appeals.
He has further urged the State Government to clear the pending salaries before Eid-Ul-Zuha (September 13) .
The All Manipur Madrassa Modernisation Teacher's Welfare Association has been staging different forms of protests since September 3 this year demanding clearance of pending salaries and regularisation of all the 150 Madrassa teachers.
