Nemcha Kipgen seeks support to combat COVTD-19

Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister, Nemcha Kipgen sought support and cooperation of the community during a review meeting held today at the DC Senapati office chamber.
The review meeting chaired by the Minister was attended by Nodal Officer Harekrishna, DC Senapati Lalithambigai Kalidas, SP Senapati, M Pradip Singh, CMO Senapati and all SDOs and frontline workers at Mao Gate.
During the meeting, report on the measures and activities taken up in the district to fight the pandemic along with grievances and hardships faced by the frontline workers, District Administration, Medical Department, Police Department, etc.
were highlighted and minutely deliberated so as to streamline and enhanced the system in containing the pandemic virus in the district.
In the report, collection of a sample of the inmates/returnees at various quarantine centres in the district was also highlighted.
With four sample collection centres, around 2110 samples have already been collected out of which result of 1090 samples have been received.
Result of 1020 samples are awaiting.
Collection of the remaining samples would be completed within 2/3 days.
However, many more are expected to arrive in the district.
There is no report of any untoward incident occurred in the various quarantine centres set up in the district so far and proper basic requirements are sufficiently provided while ADC Senapati has been inspiringly taking the lead in catering and delivering of food to the inmates in all the quarantine centres within the District Headquarters and its surrounding areas.
Among many other grievances highlighted during the meeting, most of the quarantine centres are running out of accommodation owing to the delay in releasing test result despite overwhelming progress in the collection of samples by the Health Department.
Officials and other frontline workers at Mao checkpoint are also having a hard time due to delay in issuance of transit pass from the Home Department for those returnees coming without a pass.
Nemcha Kipgen lauded frontline workers and officials from the District Administration, Police Department and the medical department in particular for performing their duties with dedication despite the mammoth influx of stranded people.
While stressing on the importance of Mao checkpoint, the Minister said that frontline workers and officials at this checkpoint should be always given priority in all aspects.
The Minister also asked the CMO Senapati to provide more doctors at the Mao checkpoint while exhorting the frontline workers and officials to be alert and active while taking proper precautionary measures in the line of their duties.
Meanwhile, to ensure the safety of the frontline workers and officials, Nemcha provided bulky protection gears including PPEs, masks, sanitizers, face shields, gloves, etc to DC Senapati, SP Senapati, CMO Senapati and also to the frontline workers and officials at Mao gate.
