Seminar on climate change ends

A valedictory function of the two day National seminar on "Climate Change: Impact on Developing Countries" concluded today at the Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth, Varanasi.
On an inaugural day, Director of Deen Dayal Upadhyay Centre (DDUC) for KAUSHAL, Dhanamanjuri University, Imphal, Dr Raheijuddin Sheikh (Shamu) spoke as the key speaker in the plenary session, said a statement of DDUC for KAUSHAL.
The inaugural session of the seminar was chaired by the Vice-Chancellor of the Vidyapeeth, Prof T N Singh.
Retired Air Vice-Marshal, Prof AjitTyagi, Commissioner of Varanasi Division, Deepak Agrawal and Prof & Head of Political Science of the Vidyapeeth, Prof Arif attended the programme as the presidium members.
Dr Raheijuddin Sheikh, while highlighting various challenges and steps taken up by the stakeholders of the North East States in combating issues on climate change with special reference to Manipur, opened his discussion with the delegates by reiterating the ideal act of Elangbam Valentina (9), who inconsolably cried when two saplings that she planted near her house in Kakching district were cut down.
It may be mentioned that Elangbam Valentina was appointed as the ambassador of Green Manipur Mission by Chief Minister N Biren Singh after her gesture went viral on social media.
