LJP set to contest Assembly, IMC polls

Lok Jansakti Party (LJP) has decided to contest the forthcoming Assembly and Municipal elections with full might in Manipur.
The party resolved today in a high level meeting, according to a statement.
The meeting was attended by Union Minister and party president, Ram Vilas Paswan, Chirag Paswan, Member of Parliament and Chief Parliamentary Board, Abdul Khaliq, Chief Secretary General, Thang Khan Gin Ngaihte, Manipur State president, Karam Shyam, party MLA, Manipur, President of Youth, Kisan Cell, Labour Cell, Women Cell and others senior members of the party from Manipur and national executive.
Addressing the party members, from Manipur, Paswan said that party has a good base in the State and it is capable of forming the Government on its own.
"We have contested Assembly elections in past also and have fared second on more than seven to eight seats," he added.
"We have also won one seat in the State, which was made possible by hard work of local unit under the leadership of Manipur State president," said Paswan.
He also asked the members to intensify the membership drive in the State and prepare solid ground for contesting the forthcoming Assembly election as well as Municipal elections.
Chirag Paswan, stressed the need of better coordination among various wings of the party and also for strengthening of party in the State.
Khaliq, said that party local unit is empowered to take decision on its own concerning the State matters under the direction of party president.
The meeting was also attended by Ajay Kumar, National Spokesperson, Gupteshwar Rai, President, Kisan Cell, Ramji Singh, President, Labour Cell and Sanjay Saraf, National President, Youth, it added.
