CM's son to contest election

Imphal, January 04 2017:
CM Okram Ibobi's son, Okram Surjakumar (Kennedy) will contest the 11th State Assembly election from Khangabok Kendra instead of his mother Okram ongbi Landhoni.
He was selected as an intending candidate at a Khangabok block Congress committee meeting on December 31 when no one turned up to claim the Congress ticket till December 30 .
In a programme held to welcome Okram Surjakumar alias Kennedy at Sangaiyumpham community hall complex, vice president of Khangabok block Congress committee, Kh Ibotombi stated that Congress committee, mahila and youth of the Kendra requested Okram ongbi Landhoni to step down and appoint Surjakumar in her stead.
Okram Surjakumar will submit his nomination form for INC tomorrow and it has been informed that submission of nomination forms has been extended till January 11 .
It can be recalled that in the previous State Assembly election, Landhoni won by 18339 votes in Khangabok AC.
