Director General Assam Rifles visits IGAR (South)

The Director General of Assam Rifles, Lieutenant General Sukhdeep Sangwan, came on a day visit to the Head Quarters of Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) today.
During his visit, the Director General was briefed on the prevailing security situation by the IG of Assam Rifles Maj Gen KP Singh.
The DG reviewed the operational preparedness of the formation and also visited forward company operating base and interacted with Commanders and troops.
He also reviewed the security posture of Assam Rifles and complimented the troops for their perseverance and appreciated the effort made by all ranks of IGAR (South) in maintaining the security in the state of Manipur.
In view of COVID-19, the DGAR was also briefed about "Op Namaste" and efforts being made for force preservation and COVID-19 preparedness of AR in Manipur.
He was made aware on relief measures, distribution of essentials and medical assistance being extended to ESM, orphanages, old age homes, women, children and local populace of Manipur in the fight against COVID-19 .
The DGAR also took part in a tree plantation drive conducted by Mantripukhri battalion inside the garrison.
It may be mentioned that AR in an initiative of "Go Green" has already planted more than 80,000 trees this year at various locations of Manipur.
The DG directed to continuously review progress of AR security preparedness and complimented the force for taking adequate measures in maintaining zero COVID positive case.
He exhorted Assam Rifles to continue extending unstinted support to the people of Manipur for achieving peace, development and prosperity.
