Imphal, November 02 2014:
The Kuki National Army (KNA-I) said the alleged inhuman act of the Manipur police commandos at Moreh on the fateful night of Oct 29 on the eve of the much awaited Chin-Kuki-Mizo's joyous Chavang Kut was very unfortunate for the Chikim family and it was a direct threat not only to the Chikim family but to the whole tribal.
A statement issued by Barrack Kuki, information and publicity secretary of KNA-I said respectable security personal has no discipline and they are no different from outlawed outfits nowadays.
They should deal people with the law of the land, not with might and foolishness.
Cautioning the commandos, the statement said if such kind of indiscipline happens again, their camp would be turned to ashes.
Stationing commandos in hill districts is not welcome and knowing this they should behave themselves, it said.
The outfit also flayed the incompetent politicians who use commandos as their shields and spears in their political warfare.
Posting of commandos at Moreh is not for maintenance of good governance but is an advance party of CM Ibobi so that on the days to come he could freely move in and dismantle the integrity of tribal lands and their rights.
This is also a threat to the tribal community.
An attempt to acquire 3000 acres of land in the name of development around Moreh is one to mention, it said.
"If we love the integrity of Manipur, tribal rights and land must be respected and preserved first.
One cannot set afire his neighbour's house and say that it is for the good of their children," it added.
