CAROLSAV 2015 held

11 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (S) organised CAROLSAV 2015, a carol singing competition at Moreh.
The event witnessed participation of nine teams from various wards, churches and schools of Moreh with various civil and military dignitaries attending both from Moreh and across the border in Myanmar.
The function was another milestone for the unit in itself which involved co-operation from Ex-servicemen Association, Meitei Council, Moreh (MCM) and Hill Tribal Council (HTC), Moreh.
The celebration involved singing of two carol songs per team.
The final four teams were then selected by the judges who sang one song each in phase 2 of the competition.
Apart from the carol songs there was participation of a Meitei cultural dance troupe and individual performances by locals.
The town resonated with the melodious voice of the young participants and hidden talent of the youth.
The function added to the spirit of the Christmas.
The first prize was won by ECA Women's Adults Group, second prize by Jehova Jire Children Home, and the third prize by KBC Centre Church of Moreh.
The winners were given cash awards worth Rs 10,000, 7,500 and 5,000 respectively along with trophies.
Consolation prizes were also given to all participants.
An estimated 600 people from Moreh witnessed and enjoyed the function which culminated with distribution of prizes and group photographs, said a press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S) .
