Imphal, April 30 2009:
Third Lamp lighting and oath taking ceremony of Irengbam Thamcha Devi Nursing and Health Care Research Institute was held at GM hall today.
Speaking at the occasion as chief guest, Health Minister Ph Parijat said that even as there were many private nursing institutions in Manipur, the number of qualified nurses produced by these institutions was not adequate.
|
Asserting that nurses that graduated from Government institutions were more qualified than those from private nursing schools, Parijat attributed this drawback to non-compliance of guidelines prescribed the Nursing Council of India in private nursing institutions.
The ceremony was presided by founder of Irengbam Thamcha Devi Nursing and Health Care Research Institute Irengbam Ibotombi.
The ceremony was also attended by senior physician of JN Hospital Dr N Dijamani, Deputy Director (Health) Dr I Imoba, president of Trained Nursing Association of India, Manipur Branch L Ibohal and secretary S Ibemhal as guests of honour.
