Govt announces cash incentives for CBSE topper
Md Ismat to get Rs 5 lakhs, Rs 10 lakhs for Zenith Academy

Imphal, May 29 2012:
The State Government has announced an incentive reward of Rs 5 lakhs to Md Ismat for his outstanding performance in the CBSE class XII examination 2012 and another Rs 10 lakhs to the teaching and non-teaching staff of Zenith Academy for producing a topper like Ismat.
This was announced by the Education Minister, M Oken at a felicitation function organized in honour of Md Ismat at Zenith Academy, Sangaiprou today.
Speaking on the occasion as Chief Guest, Minister M Oken said that without considering whether he is from a government or private school, the state government has decided to honour Md Ismat with incentive reward as an encouragement.
Encouraging other students as well, the Education Minister assured that any student who tops the exam will be given much bigger incentive.
The school will also be awarded in the same manner.
The Minister observed that it is not good school building that brings quality education but sincere hard work of students and teachers that brings laurels to the school and the state.

The achievement of Md Ismat in securing the top position in CBSE class XII examination, 2012 in science stream from among 8.5 lakh students in India and abroad has shown us that Manipur is not lagging behind other states of India in the field of education, said Minister Oken.
He also informed that the concept of Education Tourism would be initiated in the state to attract students from other parts of the country to come and study here.
A rule which makes mandatory for government school teachers to enroll their children in government schools will also be set up very soon.

Dr.Suresh Babu, Principal Secretary, Education and Home, Manipur, who was also present during the function, said that the year 2012 will be a landmark in the history of Manipur because for the first time a student studying in Manipur secures top position in the class XII examination conducted by CBSE.
Presided over by Agriculture Minister Md Nasir, the function was also attended by MLA Ng Bijoy, MLA RK Anand, MLA Vungzagin Valte and Suman Singh, State Project Director of SSA and RMSA as Guests of Honours.
