A young boy reading in Standard VI died today after under controversial circumstances at Toupokpi Khunou Ward No 2, Bishnupur district.
The boy identified as Tongbram Suresh alias Malangba s/o T Bira of was studying at Residential Kids Care School, Game Village since a few years back.
According to T Bira, the school authority brought his son home at around 8.30 pm yesterday.
By the time Suresh alias Malangba was unconscious and many wounds made by things like belt were seen on his body.
When they brought the boy home, the school authority allegedly told his parents not to consult doctors but local medicine men (Maiba).
Even as a local medicine man was consulted today, Suresh alias Malangba expired at around 1 pm.
Bira said that he could not pay his son's school fees in time and he was asked to take away Suresh alias Malangba from the school on account of his failure to pay fees.
"But I went to take back my son as he got seriously ill, they (school authority) contended that I could not take away my son without clearing the due fees", Bira said.
It was only last night they brought Suresh alias Malangba home.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered at Bishnupur police station in connection with the controversial death while the corpse has been deposited at RIMS mortuary.
