MLA Imo inspects projects

With the laying of water pipeline from Sagolband Amudon to Bijoy Govinda nearing completion, people of the area are likely to get relief from the chronic water woes soon.
After conducting a site visit to various localities where development works are being taken up, Sagolband AC MLA RK Imo said that 90 per cent of the work has now been completed.
The pipeline was laid to solve the problem of water scarcity being faced by the people of the area since past many years, the MLA said and added that the work was executed as part of his development programmes.
RK Imo said that the work has become a reality after a project of Rs 6 lakh was included in SPA following his request.
Revamping of NH-37 (Imphal-Jiri) could not be completed as construction of retaining wall of Nambul river bank is still incomplete at Moirang Leirak point.
However, a 85-metre portion of the retaining wall has been constructed under SPA fund he said and added that another 100-metre portion is yet to be constructed.
The MLA said that the remaining portion of the highway would be revamped after the said work is included in this year's programme.
The MLA also inspected the work progress of Kakhulong Balwadi building being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 25 lakh.
He said that the building would be completed within one year.
The MLA said that community halls at Keishampat Mutum Leikai and Thokchom Leikai were constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 23 lakh from the funds of MDS and Local Area Development.
Regarding extension of Amudon community hall, RK Imo said that Rs 25 lakh would be spent from his Local Area Development fund.
Meanwhile, earth filling works for the construction of Mayaikoibi community hall is also nearing completion, the inspecting MLA added.
