Renu Takhellambam, president of Extra Judicial Executive Victim Families Association, Manipur (EEVFAM) has appealed to all the families of fake encounter victims who have not submitted the related data to EEVFAM to submit it before August 25 .
Speaking to mediapersons at EEVFAM temporary office located at AMBA building, Renu said that out of 1528 persons who were allegedly killed by police and paramilitary forces, 600 families have turned up and submitted their related documents.
The next hearing of the case is on September first week.
Human rights groups and students of Jindal Global University have extended assistance to EEVFAM while while collecting information from the victims' families, Renu said.
She also expressed suspicion over the failure of the victims' family to submit the documents and said they might have been threatened or have applied for job under die-in-harness.
She also urged all the citizens as well as the civil society organizations to extend support to the victims' families.
She further appealed to the State Government to look into failure to provide FIR and post mortem reports by the police station concerned.
