Imphal, October 21 2013:
A change in the State would happen if and when the Congress rule ended, said BJP National Spokesperson, Nirmala Sitharaman.
Addressing a press meet today at the State BJP office at Nityapat Chuthek, Nirmala Sitharaman said that development work could not accelerate in the State due to lack of coordination among the Congress in the State and Centre.
Being puppets at the hand of the Centre, the State Government could not undertake any development project on its own.
Nirmala said the self-reliance and non-cooperation attitude of the Congress Central leadership indicated that there is no capable leader in the party.
As the party lacks capable leader, the issues of border fencing and internal security have cropped up.
The day to day rising activities of Maoists shows the Congress party's lack of interest on internal security, Nirmala said.
Saying that the forth coming Lok Sabha election would be a decisive one, the BJP Spokesperson said the public should not content with the freebies that come from
the Centre.
Providing employment to the educated unemployed youth and developing human resource should be prioritised.
Saying that Manipur is a State dominated by corruption, the BJP leaders said crores of Rupee in the name of developing Loktak Lake, a major name that earns fame for the State, vanished into thin air.
Many pipes meant to provide potable water to the public are found kept idle.
The huge amount of bribes in police recruitment would never produce good policemen who could maintain law and order, Nirmala said while also pointing out defects in PDS system.
Nirmala said many people starved whn rice remained rotten at godowns.
Pointing out that no development could be seen in the State since the Congress came to power in the State in 2002 and the same party retained power in the Centre in 2004, the BJP spokesperson promised to deliver justice to the people of the State.
