Senapati DC flags off

Senapati, July 21 2014:
Senapati District Deputy Commissioner Jacintha Lazarus, IAS, in a grand ceremony flagged off a tree plantation project at the catchment area of Taphou Naga water supply scheme under MGNRGES at public ground, Senapati DHQ.
Lauded by many, the innovative mega project participated by over 19 villages was aimed to create a permanent solution to water scarcity problems in the ever growing population areas of Senapati DHQ.
Apart from hundreds of job card holders from 19 villages, District Level Officers, line departments and DRDA officials, the flagging off ceremony was attended by SP Isak Shah, MPS; CEO Rang Peter, MCS; ADC Kangpokpi; SDOs; Tribe Hohos; villages leaders and all apex civil bodies including NPO, SDSA, SDWA and KSTC.
The programme proceeded with a flagging of job card holders for mass tree plantation at catchment area which was 20 kms away from the DHQ.
More than 3000 villagers joined the plantation of trees with the DC and all dignitaries participating the exercise.
On the occasion civil bodies like NPO, SDSA, SDWA and KSTC also gave short speeches appreciating the DC's initiatives and also appealed to the public to extend all out support with the new mega environmental development project.
Later a deed of agreement of the project along with felicitation of the village Chairman and Secretaries were held.
At the plantation site, DC along with officials planted saplings thus joining the villagers who will plant more than 50,000 tree saplings in the first phase.
