Imphal, May 21 2019: All Manipur Buddhist Association (AMBA) celebrated the Buddha Purnima-2019 today at the Ningomthong Community Hall, Sairom Leirak, Imphal East.

Starting from 6am ceremonial programmes such as Hirikonba(meditation),Irat-Thaouni (ritual prayers), Sila Laoba (Panchshil recitation),Lai Katpa( Offering to Buddha), Dharmapada Paba (Reciting verses of Dharmapada), Dharmagi Warol Piba (Lecture on Dharma) and Lamboiba Ikaikhumnaba(Honour to Monk) etc had been performed that ended at 11pm with jointly enjoying the day's offering eatables.

Giving lecture on the meaning of Dharma Ven Panthaopa Prof M S Ningomba, the Monk and leader of AMBA briefly stated the underlying truth in the meaning of Dharma (religion).

Dharma is not a theoretical perception or beautiful words and phrases reciting often at times of prayers or lecture but it is purely practical approaches to be performed in accordance with mind associated in one's body for the revelation of self and other living being, he said.

Different names are given to Dharma and the God but dharma can never be only for a particular community things may not be taken as happenings at so named god's will.

Mind that is unfailingly associating with everyone's body is streamlined with series is good teachings whose only possession in mind cannot be termed as following dharma which is purely manifested when the possessions in the mind habitually turns into actions only.

Buddhism respects all other dharma but when only it is shown off with practical principles preaching as lifelong process, Panthoupa added. Simply the phrase 'Cause and Effect' may define Buddhism signifying the fact that there in nothing in this Universe without a cause and likewise there is effect for every cause.

Life is in the same platitude and so one's life is not god's verdict but the effect of a cause he or she is making knowingly or unknowingly.

Knowing the cause for making his/her life is important because his/her dharma is to be defined by the practices of body and mind he/she indulges into.

The world is in unrest when dharma is politicized and brought into sectarianism.

Life becomes full of pains and sorrows when a life effects pains to another life and its chain reactions leads the society into chaotic situation.

Dharma is the only way to solution.

Dharma is an eternal truth that frees man and living beings from all pains and sorrows and so no particular religion can be its sole ownership.

Beautiful words, phrases and lectures cannot represent mastership of dharma , it is purely practical activities showing outward beauties as manifestation of possessing inward peaceful mind.

Mind is the fastest of all things but the fastest things are always prone to accidents and so mind is to be controlled that can be possible through Hirikonba( Meditation) which the Buddhists learn to be in possession with.

Let dharma flourish in the way how Buddha the enlightened led and enlightenment be with all living beings to sustain ever peace and tranquility, Panthoupa M.S.Ningomba said.
