Imphal, January 19, 2012:
The Nagaland People's Front (NPF) will go for post-poll alliance with non-Congress parties of the state and form the government in Manipur, asserted Nephiu Rio, Chief Minister of Nagaland.
Speaking at a political campaign of NPF held at the public ground of Noney today, Nephiu Rio said that though no formal meeting has been convened with any other non-Congress parties of the state, the NPF will certainly pick the parties with which it will form the post-poll alliance and take up necessary steps for formation of the next govt.He further said that since the NPF is a political party recognised by the ECI, no one has the right to block the party from entering any part of the country.
It is because of this fact that NPF has set up its units in the state of Manipur inspite of the uncalled for impediments put up by Chief Minister O Ibobi who seems to get allergic the moment he hears the word Naga.
He further appealed to all the Nagas to stand as one for the Naga issue and demand the rights of the Nagas.
We should never compromise on the Naga issue.
The NPF stands entirely for the Nagas.
All political partiers in the state of Manipur have its own ideology and have also come out with their own manifestos, but none of the parties can neither save nor protect the Nagas.
So the Nagas should think carefully before selecting their candidates.
He also declared that the NPF candidates, if elected, will certainly take up the Naga issues in the state Assembly.
Therefore, it is high time that all Nagas come together and strengthen the NPF.
He also urged the Nagas residing in valley to vote any party except Congress.
TR Zeliang, Chairman, Coordination Committee Manipur Unit and Solomon Veino, Vice President NPF Manipur State Unite also spoke on the occasion.
Meanwhile, gearing up for the forthcoming 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly Elections slated for 28th of this month, the aid of NPF Manipur State working president Sword Vahum has been roped in to canvass the electors who fall under Ukhrul Area Constituency.
While the NPF president along with party active workers campaigned in the areas of Greenland, Langdang and Shirui, the NPF candidate of Ukhrul AC Samuel Risom and his close associates were engaged in hectic campaign in Phungreitang West and other areas of Ukhrul headquarters.
Another mobile team of Ukhrul Kendra had a minute discussion with women folk in different parts of Ukhrul Town including Phungreitang and Ngashantang areas besides campaigning at village level by the party executives in their respective villages.
