Imphal, January 17 2019:
The Non-Teaching Employees Welfare Organisation (NTEWO), RIMS has submitted a memorandum to Union Health and Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda seeking his immediate intervention regarding the various demands of the organisation.
Apart from listing their demands, the memorandum accused the RIMS Director of ignoring the demands rather than doing anything to translate them into action.
They also urged the Union Health and Family Welfare Minister to replace the incumbent Director.
NTEWO locked the administrative block of RIMS on Tuesday which was later broken open and launched a cease work strike from the same day.
They submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister N Biren who is also vice-president of the RIMS Board of Governors yesterday.
As the NTEWO cease work strike continued today too, normal functions of the institute were affected to some extent even though health care services were not affected.
Notably, NTEWO has been demanding enhancement of Children Education Allowances to the scale of the 7th Pay, enhancement of contract employees' remuneration to the scale of 7th Pay, recruitment of multitasking staff, filling up of vacant posts and implementation of die-in-harness scheme.
