Containment measures imposed in Senapati town; IRCS sanitises police station

Senapati, May 15 2021: In a bid to control the increasing trend of COVID-19 infection in the second wave, containment measures for 8 days in the town area of Senapati have come into force with effect from May 14 .

The District Magistrate declared the containment measures in view of the sudden surge in the number of COVID-19 positive cases being reported over the past couple of days.

The measures include sealing of the geographical areas, ban of entry and exit of people from the containment areas, initiating active surveillance of COVID-19 cases and prohibiting public gathering of any type.

In this connection, all types of business establishments, plying of vehicles except those exempted from the purview of the containment came to a halt after 3pm of May 14 .

No untoward incident has been reported yet.

The containment would continue till May 22 .

Meanwhile, the Indian Red Cross Society, Senapati District sanitized the whole compound of Senapati District Police Station including the family quarters.

Speaking to a media person, Chairman of IRCS Senapati District, KL Louno Andrew mentioned that the initiative to sanitize the police station was carried out after the Officer incharge of Senapati Police station, Tezii LL informed them about the need to sanitize the Police station.

The Officer incharge of Senapati Police Station also expressed his gratitude to the IRCS team for their efforts especially during the pandemic.
