Family demands arrest

Family of Kangujam Shatrajit (65), whose body was recovered as skeletal remains at Mayangkhang in Senapati district on March 10, has urged the State Government to book the killers at the earliest.
Sister of the deceased, Savitri while speaking to reporters at RIMS morgue expressed strong suspicion that her brother might be murdered after beaten up severely.
Shatrajit worked as a labourer in a brick factory at Hengbung.
Savitri said that her brother came to his Taobungkhok Awang Leikai residence prior to Ningol Chakkouba festival in November last year.
He returned to the brick factory the next after he celebrated the festival at his house, she added.
Saying that Shatrajit was in contact with his family till November 17, Savitri said that the news of her brother's missing was received on November 18 .
The family not only reported the matter to Senapati Police Station on November 19 but also has been searching for his whereabouts since then.
She added that separate memoranda had already been submitted to the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister to trace the whereabouts of Shatrajit.
The deceased is survived by his wife and a son.
Savitri also demanded the Government that a suitable Government job be given to the son of the deceased.
