Cleanliness drive at DMU campus

Imphal, July 11 2020:
Education Minister Dr Thokchom Radheshyam today led a cleanliness drive at Dhanamanjuri University (DMU) campus, which is now a Cluster University of five colleges.
He stated that the cleanliness drive has been planned to pave way to welcome the students back to the campus when the lockdown is lifted by the Government.
The number of positive cases in the State is rising as many returnees are still coming back to the State and once the mass return is over, the condition may become favourable for the lockdown to be lifted.
He said that the decision to conduct the cleanliness drive was taken as a part of Swachh Bharat and keep it ready for the opening when the time comes.
Organised by the DM University, the cleanliness programme cum social service was held in all higher educational institutions and offices located within the premises of the DM University including the DM Community College, DM College Teacher Training College, Hindi Teachers Training College, LMS Law College, GP Women's college and the Education (S) Engineering Wing office.
Since the lockdown of the educational institutions due to COVID-19 pandemic, there has been no activity in the institutes.
Commissioner, Higher & Technical Education, M Harekrishna, Registrar, Dhanamanjuri University, Dr Nivedita Lairenlakpam Principals of the colleges, officials concerned of Dhanamanjuri University, students, and teachers took active participation in the cleanliness drive.
