AR saves girl

Imphal, September 09 2014:
Assam Rifles of 28 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR(S) treated and saved a two and half years old girl child who had suffered a severe burn injury, according to a press release issued by HQ IGAR (South) .
She was brought to the unit hospital in a semi-conscious state.
The child named Jennifer was brought to the unit hospital on July 9 last by her parents.
The child was immediately attended by the unit Medical Officer.
Personal care and continuous monitoring saw the condition of child improving gradually till she was finally declared fit by the doctor on September 2 .
The Assam Rifles on an average treats approximately 350 civilians per month which also includes emergency cases in its area of responsibility in the remote border area of Samtal which is devoid of any government and private medical set up.
The parents of the child and other villagers expressed their gratitude to the Assam Rifles for their initiative to help the locals.
