Medical / awareness prog held at Phungcham village

Ukhrul, December 06 2019:
A one day free medical camp cum health awareness programme was held today at Phungcham village, Ukhrul.
Yuimi Horam, president of a NGO (Information Centre for Hills Areas Manipur ) ICHAM who attended the programme as the special guest of the health camp said that every person deserve to lead a healthy lifestyle.
Stating that PHSC at the village is yet to start operating, he added that it urged the department concerned and the State Government to complete the pending work without further delay.

He also said that villagers have been deprived of their basic health rights.
CMO, Ukhrul Dr Kapangring also urged the villagers above 40 years to regularly check their sugar level, BP and consult the doctors if required for a medication.
CMO also expressed concern over the incomplete of PHSC Centre, which will provide healthcare facilities to the villagers.
Later, ICHAM team, youth leaders, VDC chairman along with Ukhrul pressmen visited the construction site of PHSC building to take stock of the prevailing condition.
According to the statement of VDC chairman, the State Government has sanctioned Rs 63 lakh for construction of wellness centre, staff quarter and PHSC centre long back.
Speaking to the media persons, Yuimi Horam appealed the department concerned to visit and verify the construction process, which he says is substandard.
He also assured that he will approach authority concerned for an expedition of the construction work.
During the health camp, vitamins, pain relief, cough & cool syrup, medicines for skin infection, allergy and several tablets for women were distributed to the patients.
The medical camp cum awareness programme was jointly organised by ICHAM, Ukhrul Health Department and Phungcham Katamnao Mayar Ngala Long (PKMNL) and sponsored by Tribal Affairs & Hills, Government of Manipur.
