War on Drugs: KEMKAL, Poumai Frontal Organisations stage rally

Endorsing the "War on Drugs 2.0" campaign of Chief Minister N Biren Singh, Moirang AC MLA Thongam Shanti today flagged off a E-rickshaw & Cycle rally from Moirang Chenggei Lampak to spread awareness on drugs and substance abuse.
The rally was organised by Kege Moirang Kendra Apunba Lup (KEMKAL) with the objective to save the youths from drugs, curb the menace of drugs from Moirang AC and spread awareness on air pollution & global warming.
Speaking to media persons, Th Shanti stressed on the ill-effects of drugs and stated that the rally was conducted by KEMKAL in support of the Chief Minister's War on Drugs 2.0 .
The MLA also mentioned that it is high time for everyone to come forward and extend their support in the fight against drug abuse to save the future generations.

The rally went to Kwakta Public Ground, Moirang Shribon Leikai, Moirang Keithel and Phubala before culminating back at Moirang Chenggei Lampak.
Th Shanti also took part in the rally along with Moirang SDPO, L Shantikumar; OC Moirang, Rajen Kha Nganba; KEMKAL president, K Nanda; secretary, H Somikanta; Moirang Kendra Apunba Meira Paibi Ima Lup president, K Padamo; secretary, N Thaba Devi; police cycle team; clubs; organisations; and E-rickshaw Association.

Intensifying its stand on "War against Drug", Poumai Frontal Organizations comprising of Poumai Naga Union (PNU), Poumai Naga Women's Union (PNNM) and Poumai Naga Students Union (PNTM) also organised a bike & car rally on Saturday.
The rally was conducted in collaboration with District Administration Senapati, District Police, Forest Department, Horticulture Department and Agriculture Department.
D Dailord Pao, president Poumai Naga Union informed stated that the rally was organised in support of State Government's War against Drug mission and in consonance with the resolution passed in the Poumai Naga General Assembly.
It may be mentioned that during the rally, the team had reportedly interacted with different village leaders including village chairman, authority members, women society leaders and student body leaders and briefed them about Government policy and entrusted them not to encourage poppy cultivation.
Moreover, the team also reportedly assured the villagers to assist them in finding alternate crops for their livelihood instead of poppy cultivation.
Banner Lanamai James, finalists Rubaru Mr India, 2022; P Achevei, winner Mega Mr Northeast, 2021-22; Joram Koveo Woba, president Senapati District Olympic Association, Manipur; former Miss Lui-ngai-ni & Mrs Poumai, Julita Robert also spoke on the occasion.
The rally covered 9 different villages including Sorbung, Khamsom, Khamsom Hupfii, Tingsong Khunou, Tingsong Centre, Tingsong Khullen, Ngamju, Oinam Hill and Thingba Khullen villages.
