Sangai Fest featured legal education stall

Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) opened a stall at the recently concluded Sangai Festival, 2016 held at Hapta Kangjeibung, Imphal.
During the festival, Judicial Officers, Advocates, academician and other eminent personalities in the field of law, Para Legal Volunteers were deputed in the stall everyday to answer legal queries from the public and also to spread legal awareness among the public.
Quiz competitions were also held every day during the festival and winners were rewarded with simple prizes.
On the last day of the festival, a mega quiz competition was held and special prizes were given out to the winners.

Many pamphlets/leaflets containing information about legal services and other legal topics were distributed during the festival.
Street plays were also staged during the festival in front of the MASLSA stall by engaging popular local actors/comedians of Nokphade group.
The play attracted a large crowd and was able to spread legal awareness on important legal issues like child labour, RTE, drug abuse, domestic violence, juvenile justice etc, a statement informed.
Justice RR Prasad, Chief Justice, High Court of Manipur; Patron-in-Chief, MASLSA, Justice N Kotiswar Singh, Judge, High Court of Manipur and Executive Chairman of MASLSA; Justice Kh Nobin Singh, Judge, High Court of Manipur and Chairman, High Court Legal Services Committee also visited the stall of Manipur State Legal Services Authority and watched the street play performed by the Nokphade group.
During the ten days long festival the stall of Manipur State Legal Services Authority was able to attract a large number of people and was quite successful in spreading legal awareness to the people on various aspects of law.
(10:24:55 PM) World Aids Day was also observed at RD Wing Lamphelpat organised by the District AIDS Prevention Central Committee, Imphal West.
The Manipur Network of Positive People (MNP+) and VIHAAN Partners also observed the day at MDU Hall, Yaiskul.
