MU staff wear black badge

Denouncing the failure of Manipur University authority to fulfil their long standing demands, staff of the university wore black badges while discharging their duties inside the university campus today.
Setting October 4 deadline for fulfilling their demands, the aggrieved staff said that they would hold a meeting on the same day and decide on their future course of action if the deadline is not met.
The main demands of the staff association comprising of Group D employees to Section Officers include filling up vacant posts of non-teaching staff, construction of staff office building as done in other Central Universities of India, opening ATM booth and counter for university staff, abolition of in-charge and officiating posts and recruitment of full fledged Librarian, Finance Officer, University Engineer, Controller of Examinations, Medical Officer, Academy Staff College and CDC Director.
