IMFCC office inagurated

Indo-Myanmar Friendship Chamber of Commerce, Moreh, secretary general T Seiboi Haokip said Manipur Development Society (MDS) has failed to take up the developmental projects sanctioned by the 13th Finance Commission for Border Area Development.
He said the Centre will be apprised of the situation shortly in case MDS fails to translate the projects into works, our correspondent reports.
He was speaking at the inaugural event of the new Indo-Myanmar Friendship Chamber of Commerce, Moreh administrative office today.
Out of the various developmental projects sanctioned by the 13th Finance Commission for BAD, one such was the construction of a 500 capacity multipurpose public auditorium, Seiboi said.
He sketched the difficulties faced in arranging big public gatherings owing to the lack of a sound auditorium.
Recently during the Deputy Chief Minister's visit to the town to inaugurate a multistorey market complex, the IMFCC submitted a memorandum demanding 50 percent reservation of shops in the market complex for locals, traders and IMFCC members.
The services of IMFCC is not limited to a single community, Seiboi said.
He further urged businessmen based at Moreh who are desirous of joining the IMFCC to register with the body.
Hill Tribal Council, Moreh units chairmen, secretaries, businessmen, KSO, Moreh president, secretary and IMFCC members along with community leaders attended the inaugural event.
