PAWF, Manipur team felicitated

The Bangladesh Manipuri Sahitya Sangsad (BMSS) felicitated members of Patriotic Writers Forum (PAWF), Manipur at Holy Inn located in Sylhet today.
It may be noted that PAWF, Manipur volunteers went on a trip to Bangladesh to organise a national level Ningol Chakkouba celebration at Manipuri Cultural Complex with the support of Manipuri Cultural Complex (MCC), Bangladesh and Manipuri Youth Forum (MYF), Bangladesh on October 27, as per a statement.
The felicitation programme was attended by AK Seram, noted writer and BMSS president as the functional president; L Prasanta, BMSS vice-president; Naoroibam Khamba Luwang, president, PAWF, Manipur; Dr Yaiskul Khwairakpam, former president, PAWF; Sobita Mongjam, vice-president PAWF, Manipur and Rakesh Naorem, vice president, PAWF, Manipur as the guests of honour.

Addressing the gathering, Rakesh Naorem highlighted the various Indo-Bangla activities organised by PAWF to bring the people of two regions together.
He added that the Ningol Chakkouba celebration was also organised in the same vein of fostering the bonds of love between people.
Further, he sought the support of Meiteis in Bangladesh adding that PAWF will continue to undertake such activities with their cooperation.
BMSS also presented gifts to the PAWF, Manipur team during the programme.
Separately, Academy For Manipuri Culture and Arts (AMCA), Sylhet also felicitated the PAWF, Manipur team at Manipuri Rajbari, Sylhet.
During the function, L Shantona, founder of AMCA and international choreographer and dancer expressed the desire to introduce foundational courses on 'pena khongba' and 'Thang-Ta' at the Academy.
It is worth noting that the PAWF Manipur team also visited Keane Bridge, known as the 'Symbol of Sylhet', Sylhet Central Jail (where Hijam Irabot was imprisoned) and Manipuri Rajbari.
