Awareness programme on zero waste conducted

The AURA (Personality Development) Club of Imphal College organized an awareness programme on the occasion of the United Nations' International Day of Zero Waste today at the College's Seminar Hall.
As per a press release by AURA Club, the event was aimed at creating awareness about the importance of zero waste and the need to adopt sustainable practices.
The event was graced by the College Principal, Dr M Priyobrata Singh as the chief guest; RK Itocha Singh, vice-president AURA Club as the guest of honour and Dr Farijuddin Khan, Teacher-in-Charge cum Convener, AURA Club as the president.
The Principal unveiled a sitting-statue of Lord Buddha made from paper, plastic and discarded wood materials during the event.
The statue was crafted by two 4th Semester students who are also members of the Club namely Thiyam Kiyamba and Leihaothabam Hariom Sharma.
The event was held to inspire individuals and communities to adopt sustainable practices and work towards a zero-waste future.
