Imphal, December 28 2017:
While four employees of Revenue Department including an SDC have been placed under suspension for wrongdoings, one Jilladar has been honoured with monetary reward for dedication to service.
The suspended employees have been identified as SDC Imphal West (Central) N Suran, Circle Mandal O Dhanabir, SK at Chandel SDO office, now transferred as look-after SDC Th Ibomcha and Registrar Kanangoo in-charge of the Directorate of Settlement and Land Records A Iboton.
On the other hand, Jilladar N Ibochouba posted at the office of Bishnupur SDO office has been honoured with monetary reward for dedication to service.
Speaking to media persons at his Old Secretariat office today, Revenue Minister Karam Shyam said that some officials were found working in their own selfish interests against many complaints received by his department about problems related to land ownership.
Shyam informed that SDC N Suran and Circle mandal O Dhanabir have been suspended for wrong-doings and discrepancies.
They carried out a land measurement by claiming that one Yendrembam (O) Tarunibala is dead even though the woman is alive.
Such deceit of claiming a living person as dead is unpardonable, Karam Shyam said.
Th Ibomcha was transferred to Chandel for making extensive manipulations while surveying lands at Kharungpat apart from attempting to give away Government lands to private parties.
In addition to defying the Government order, he refused to hand over the land records of Khangabok to the new official.
This compelled the Government to suspend Ibomcha, the Revenue Minister informed.
A Iboton recently issued Dag Chitha against a particular portion of Koutruk reserved for construction of National Sports University.
All such wrongdoings cannot be overlooked and the Government is compelled to penalise the wrongdoers so that it serves as a lesson to all officers and staff of Revenue Department Karam Shyam said that he convened a joint meeting of SDOs, SDCs, Jilladars and Mandals on December 4 and all the officers and staff were instructed to discharge their duties efficiently without causing undue inconvenience to public and also to collect land revenue regularly.
Subsequently, Jilladar N Ibochouba collected Rs 50,000 as land revenue within 10 days.
For his dedication to service, his name would be recommended for monetary reward which would be distributed on January 26, Karam Shyam said.
Further, the Minister presented a monetary reward to N Ibochouba from his own side.
