MNPF claims hand in Ukhrul blast

The Manipur Naga People's Front (MNPF) has claimed hand in a reported powerful IED blast yesterday at Somdal village in Ukhrul district at around 6.45 pm.
Somdal is the native village of many top brass NSCN (IM) leaders including Th Muivah, general secretary, Phungthing Ruivah, C-in-C, Tamreipam Muivah, Dy Chief NSCN (IM) and Chipemmi Ruivah, chief finance of the NSCN (IM) .
In a statement, Thomas Niumai, assistant publicity secretary of MNPF said that the bomb blast at Somdal village was not targeted on innocent Somdal villagers, but a warning to Somdal NSCN (IM) leaders to stop misleading and trading the Nagas of Manipur for their benefits.
It is well known by every Naga that due to the evil politics of the Somdal NSCN (IM) particularly Th Muivah a number of Tangkhuls died in 1988 in Eastern Nagaland.
A number of innocent Kukis and Nagas lost their lives during Naga-Kuki communal clash in the 90s, the MNPF said.
A number of innocent Tangkhuls were killed in 1997 in Nagaland due to high handed politics and many Naga leaders have been killed on false charges.
MNPF is for Manipur Nagas.
Any matter which harms the Manipur Nagas will be countered by the organization in the interest of the Nagas, it said.
It also warned NSCN (IM) to immediately stop the habit of suppressing Manipur Nagas and stop scheming communal tension in Manipur.
