Imphal, June 28 2019:
People's Movement For Resurgent Manipur (PMRM) Friday accused the State Ministers and MLAs of lobbying for power in Centre ignoring the core issues the State is facing at present.
Condemning the Ministers and MLAs concerned for 'power struggle' among themselves, PMRM in a statement today asserted that core issues such as water crisis the farmers are facing and Naga peace talk are being ignored by the people's representatives.
Stating that they were elected to serve people's interest, PMRM pointed out that the current crisis among the elected members is 'nothing but greed for power' .
"People's representatives who are working for own benefit are enemies of the people," said PMRM.
Urging the Ministers, MLAs to resolve the crisis before the core issues become uncontrolled, PMRM advised them to respect the mandate given to them by the people.
They were elected not to fight among themselves, but to work for the people, PMRM said.
It also advised the MPs to be vocal in the Parliament about the core issues the State is facing.
"The current power struggle will only lead to more chaos and imposition of President Rule," PMRM said.
