Imphal, December 27 2013 :
Tuinuphai villagers have condemned the group of people including women, who forcibly entered and allegedly tried to settle at the village on December 20 last.
In a press conference held at Manipur Press Club, Tuinuphai village Chief Letsei Vaiphei said that these people were asked to leave the village by Tuinuphai villagers as they were outsiders, who tried to settle at the village without taking any permission from the Village Authority.
Maintaining that they came to the village on the pretext of celebrating Christmas, Letsei Vaiphei alleged that the outsiders reached Tuinuphai village in a truck and a Tata Winger at the behest of Zou Defence Volunteers (ZDV) home secretary Michael Zou, who sent letters addressed to himself (Letsei Vaiphei) and former village chief Tongkhogin Tungdim on December 19.The letter asked the two village leaders to live together with the new group of people sent by ZDV home secretary harmoniously, Letsei added.
It is condemnable to intrude and try to settle in a village without permission, he added.
