Champion footballer Lalzoulen felicitated

Promising young footballer Lalzoulen Lotzen who took pivotal role in clinching the champions trophy of the National School Games football championship for Manipur was accorded a warm reception at Presidency College, Motbung today.
The reception function was organised by the Thadou Students' Association, Sadar Hills and Thadou Youth Association, Sadar Hills.
The organisers of the function presented a memento to Lalzoulen Lotzen and a traditional shawl of Thadou community to coach Hawaibam Imo.
Apex Christian High School, Motbung represented Manipur in the 56th National School Under-17 Football Championship 2011 held at Srinagar from September 15 to 20 .
The Manipur team of which Lalzoulen Lotzen was the start striker defeated Orissa in the final via tie-breaker and helped in retaining the champions trophy.
In the previous edition of the tournament held at Andaman, Lalzoulen scored the lone and winning goal of the final match.
Manipur bagged best coach, best goalkeeper and best scorer awards in the Andaman edition of the tournament where Lalzoulen Lotzen gave scintillating performance.
Acknowledging his skill, Lalzoulen was selected for the national U-18 football team for a tournament which would be hosted by Brazil but the same tournament was postponed indefinitely.
Nevertheless, Lalzoulen would join a football camp which would begin from January next year to prepare a national football for a continental tournament which would be hosted by Vietnam, said coach Imo.
