Governor, Chief Minister greet all on Yaoshang

Governor Gurbachan Jagat and Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh have extended their greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Yaoshang festival, which is to be celebrated from tomorrow.
In his message to the people, the Governor observed, "Celebrated at the onset of spring, Yaoshang, the festival of colours symbolizes the rejuvenation of the spirit of life.
It is marked by gaiety, enthusiasm and spiritualism and exhorts us to forget our differences and strengthen the bond of humanity." He also noted that during the recent past, one sees, sports as an important item during the celebration in various localities in the valley, which is imbued with the spirit of Yaoshang, where the emphasis is on participation, irrespective of age, caste and creed.
"On this occasion, let us resolve to work for a better and peaceful Manipur where every community has a space and respect.
Let us all celebrate the festival in its true spirit", the Governor exhorted.
Greeting the people, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh said that Yaoshang, one of the biggest festivals of Manipur, is a festival of joy and reconciliation when everybody old and young enjoy with gaiety and enthusiasm.
Yaoshang emphasizes the message of love and the spirit of harmony and friendship amongst the different communities in our State.
'I join the people Manipur in the celebration of Yaoshang", the Chief Minister added.
MP of Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency Thangso Baite has also conveyed his greetings for Yaoshang festival to the people of Manipur.
