Imphal, July 25 2016:
Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol
(CADA) has condemned the shutting down of RIMS OPD by the
Teachers and Medical Officers' Association, RIMS following
suspension of a doctor in connection with the death of Kheroda
during child delivery at the hospital.
The doctor was suspended in order to probe the matter and
submit an unbiased report of the same.
The Teachers and
Medical Officers' Association, RIMS has launched an unethi-
cal form of agitation.
By depriving the people of their liberty
to get medical treatment, the doctors have failed to uphold the
medical ethics which they have solemnly sworn to continue.
Public are levied taxes to raise revenue to fund Government
to carry out many functions including health care systems.
If
doctors are to take up steps against the wishes of the people
then they should quit their job or not accept their monthly
salary, CADA said.
Whether commoner or doctor, one should
be dealt firmly according to law, CADA stated.
