Sit-in protests were staged at Yairipok and Kumbi today in connection with the present turmoil.
At Kumbi Assembly Constituency, Bishnunaha Youth Federation Yairipok (BYFY) organised a sit-in protest today calling for resignation of fifty non-Kuki MLAs, withdrawal of SoO pact with Kuki militants and expressing stern opposition to the demand for a separate administration at Yairipok Bishnunaha Pukhri Achouba Mapal.
The protest was staged under the supervision of Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) and participated by thousands of residents under the jurisdiction of Social Economic and Development Organisation (SEDO) Yairipok Bazar, Bamol Leikai Youth Club Yairipok (BYCY), Siphai Leikai Guidance Club (SLGC) Yairipok and numerous meira paibi organisations.

Speaking in this connection, BYFY president Laishram Anand questioned the silence and lack of action by the fifty MLAs on the ongoing situation and demanded their resignation on moral grounds.
The protestors held placards with inscriptions such as "Immediately resign irresponsible 50 MLAs", "Stop inhuman economic blockade", "Down with narco-terrorism", "Withdraw SoO with Kuki militants", "Implement NRC immediately" and "Protect the integrity of Manipur" .
Separately, All Wangoo Apunba Meira Paibi Lup organised a sit-in protest at Wangoo Ahallup Mayai Leikai play ground and raised slogans expressing their opposition to the acts of Indian Army, calling for peace and protection of the integrity of Manipur, withdrawal of SoO pact, containment of Kuki militants to their designated camps, enforcement of NRC in the State etc.
Women of the area, representatives of local clubs and organisations along with residents emerged from their homes in hordes to participate in today's protest.
According to the protestors, it is time to identify the groups who are intent on creating a divide between the valley and hill brethren and disintegrating the State.
Further, they advised the MLAs and Ministers to handover the administration of safety and security of the State to the women folk if they are not competent enough to safeguard Manipur.
They also questioned the motive of the fifty MLAs who have stood in silence as ten of their Chin-Kuki peers raised the demand for a separate administration to the Union Home Minister.
Lastly, the protestors called for peace and restoration of normalcy.
