ZRA warns of hostile activities within its operational area

Taking serious note of the increasing violence witnessed within Churachandpur district in recent days, the Zomi Revolutionary Army has warned those involved of stern actions and instructed anyone involved in serving ransom within its operation areas to withdraw the thoughtless demands.
It may be recalled that there was a bomb blast on March 12, 2022 at Central Lamka claiming the life of Deepak Kumar of Bihar.
On June 11, 2022, Kammuanpau, chief of MT Geltam was kidnapped allegedly by KIA, a non-SoO Kuki armed group.
The latest being the brutal murder of Anand Gupta on the fateful night of June 17, 2022 allegedly by KCP-NRFM group.
Moreover, some non-local businessmen also received life threatening phone calls from KCP-NRFM armed group and were even summoned to report at Imphal for best reason known to them, claimed a release issued by ZRA.
It added that the ZRA would not tolerate such anti-social elements and would protect everyone irrespective of caste, creed and tribe affiliation within its jurisdiction.
The ZRA also called on KCP-NRFM to immediately withdraw the monetary demand it allegedly served to Churachandpur District Private Schools and Colleges Association (CDPSCA) .
It also alleged that certain armed groups were providing shelter and protection to some individuals who are engaged in anti-Zomi activities and were already terminated from the organisation even as it asked such groups to keep aloof from such individuals.
Meanwhile, the armed group's parent body, the ZRO have also cautioned the public not to create hindrances and obstructions along NH 102B that could hamper and impede the speedy construction.
It mentioned that the public and commuters are the first casualties and worst victims whenever bandh is imposed against construction companies.
The group also appealed to the authorities concerned to release pending compensations to all genuine and rightful beneficiaries without any further delay while assuring that it would exert its influence for the prompt payment of such compensations.
