Imphal, December 20 2015:
With wide availability of variety of war toys and access to war games particularly during the festive season, Diocesan Social Service Society (DSSS) has today urged the social organisations of the district to extend their support in campaigning against war toys, reports our correspondent.
Speaking to media persons today at Ukhrul District Working Journalists' Association (UDWJA) office, TS Alvis of DSSS said that war toys and war games tend to develop violent dominance in the minds of children.
Developing such behaviour during a learning stage can disrupt a child's cognitive growth which in turn will have a negative impact in society.
He further said that parents should be aware of the damaging effects these war toys, war games and other violence related toys will inflict on their children.
Banning toy guns in the district should also be endorsed by the people in order to encourage the children in productive activities.
